Adventure in Cabo San Lucas

Pine Mountain

Hello again from Pine Mountain. This week I worked in my greenhouse and started the fall planting. Squeekers my African grey parrot was his usual self walking up and down the rows looking for worms then he finally went over and started munching on peanuts in his dish. I took Pete the mule out with his little cart and mended some more fences. I took Rocket my horse out for a couple of rides to give him some exercise and I chipped more wood with my wood chipper and bagged it up so I can sell it to the store. This week I have a story about an adventure I had in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico a couple of years ago. First we have the usual sections on alternative energy, easy cash, nutrition and health, travel, and treasure hunting

Alternative Energy

First for those of you that have just joined us, here at the ranch, power is supplied by 2 wind turbines and a water turbine. We also have a few solar panels that charge up a battery bank. Our horizontal turbine looks like a small wingless airplane on top of it’s 80 foot tower. We purchased that one from www.bergey.com. Our vertical turbine we purchased from http://www.pacwind.net/, it spins away on a 30 foot or 10 meter pole out by the barn. Our water turbine in the dam of our pond came from an Alaskan alternative energy company http://www.absak.com/. The wind has been normal for this time of year. Every day there is an almost constant 7 or 8 mph wind. In the late afternoon and early evening the wind picks up to about 10 to 15 mph.
Is your electric bill going through the roof? Are you paying $200 or even more per month for electricity? Do you want to cut costs or even learn how you can sell electricity back to the power company so they pay you instead of you paying them? Learn how you can supplement you electricity and reduce your electric bill for only a small investment of less than $200 in alternative energy. Go Alternative energy and learn easy ways you can cut your electric bill.
The price of fuel keeps going up in price. Gasoline is now over $3.75 a gallon. Everyone is looking for anything that will increase fuel economy even a little. Most Alternative energy fuels are still years away but there is a way to improve your mileage, increase your horsepower, and reduce your emissions all at the same time. You will be able to turn your vehicle into a fuel efficient one with only a few readily available items from your local hardware. The instructions are easy to follow and there are many diagrams so you can see how to do it too. It does not matter if you have a gasoline or diesel engine vehicle it will work with either one. Do you want to increase your fuel economy and create 30% less pollution? How about increase your gas mileage and increase your power too. An environmentally safe non toxic product called Ethos will do just that. It improves gas economy by reformulating your gasoline to allow more air to be mixed with the fuel vapor. This causes cleaner combustion and increases power. Your fuel burns more completely and thus produces less emissions. All you have to do is add a couple ounces per tank of gasoline or diesel. Go to http://www.thegassecret.net/ and learn more about this alternative energy supplement.

Adventure in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo looking across
the Marina
It was December 2006. I took a vacation and went to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. There were 4 other people with me, my 2 friends and their 2 girlfriends. We flew into Cabo international airport then rented a rental car and drove to the motel. It was almost evening when we were all settled in. The girls wanted to go clubbing so we all got dressed up and headed uptown to the clubs. Cabo is getting to be a large town. About 57,000 people call Cabo home and it is a modern town. Most of the buildings have been built in the last 30 to 40 years.

The Clubs

Cabo is a party town and there are many clubs. Each club has it’s own theme and one or more bands and dance floors. We started at the famous Cabo Wabo Cantina. This club was started in 1990 by Sammy Haggar of the famous rock group Van Halen. My friends girl friends were dressed up in their best party clothes. The one girl Angie had on $3000 diamond earrings with a matching $3000 diamond necklace. She wore a silver dress that picked up and reflected the club lights. The other girl Linda, had on a light blue metallic dress with a plunging V neck.
She also had all her best jewelry on. The three of us guys just had on casual pants and shirts and while we enjoyed the club and the music we were not trying to impress anyone like the girls were. We stayed at the Cabo Wabo about an hour then we left and had dinner at a little restaurant that we passed. We had steak kabobs and margaritas. The girls kept rushing us to finish because they wanted to hit the next club.

We finished our dinner then we went to a club called The Zoo. We stayed about an hour at this club, then we went to another club called The Jungle Box. It was 2 AM by this time so we headed back to the hotel. The girls were still in party mode so we went out on the patio that opened from our hotel suite. Angie was pretty drunk by this time and she was barefoot on the patio. Some pink Flamingoes wandered by Angie thought she would catch one. Before anyone could stop her, she jumped over the patio railing and landed on a sprinkler head cutting her foot. The Flamingo ran off . We helped Angie back over the railing and cleaned and bandaged her foot then everyone went to bed.

Cabo History

The first Humans arrived in the Cabo area about 14,000 years ago. They were called the Pericu. They were fishermen and hunter gatherers. They had spears, nets, rafts, bow and arrows, and blow guns. The first Europeans to arrive were Fortun Ximenez and his crew from the Hernan Cortes expedition in 1530. In 1730 the Jesuits tried to establish a mission. In 1734 the Pericu revolted and killed 2 Jesuit priests. A war began and by 1768 because of the war and the spread of white man’s diseases the Pericu became extinct.

An Englishman named Thomas Ritchie came to the area in 1828 and became the first permanent settler of Cabo. The town of Cabo was a sleepy little fishing village until 1974 when the Mexican government decide to make Cabo a showplace tourist town. The town has greatly expanded since then and is new and modern. There is now an international airport, a cruise ship terminal, and a large marina.

Day 2

Our little group woke up hung over from the clubbing and drinking of the night before. The girls set about making breakfast and soon we had sausage and scrambled eggs with toast and orange juice to wash it down.

After breakfast my friends and their girlfriends took off to go sand dune riding on Quads and Dune buggies. I went and explored Cabo. I went all the way to the famous land’s end natural
stone arch and enjoyed a walk on the sparkling sandy beach.
Land's End Arch

I returned to the hotel and my friends were back as well. They told about there sand dune adventures and how Angie tried to climb a sand dune that was too steep and flipped the quad over on herself. Somehow she managed to survive with only a couple of bruises. I think the girl has 9 lives but she is using up a lot of those lives here in Cabo.

We spent a couple more days in Cabo. We explored by day and went clubbing at night. Soon it was time to return home. We had fun in Cabo but we were glad when we came home.

Pine Mountain Evening

It is evening and I am relaxing in my easy chair in front of the fireplace. A cheery gas fire takes the chill off the mountain evening. Squeekers my African Grey parrot is sitting on his perch munching peanuts. I am relaxing with my coffee from http://www.coffeefool.com/. Tonight I am trying Mexican Altura pluma to go along with my Cabo story. This coffee sneaks up on you. It is a medium bodied coffee that has a pleasant aroma at a distance but after the first sip, a sudden, bright flavor that tends to linger. It is like a mariachi band.
Squeekers and I have been watching the latest episode of the Sci fi series Stargate Atlantis. The show is over now and my coffee is gone so I put Squeekers in his cage and turn off the gas fireplace. It is time for sleep. See you all next week.
